Network Notification FAQ

What is an InGo Network Notification?
It is an email to a registrant based on certain activity they complete (register for your event) or someone in their network does not complete (invite not yet accepted). Our first set of these include notifications based on specific attendee user activity and what is occurring or not occurring in the registrant user’s network around your event.

What kind of notifications do you have?
Currently we have two sets of notifications:

  • Exhibitor Notification Types

    1. Who's Going In Your Network

      • hows you who, in your network, is also attending the event with you.

  • Registrant Notification Types

    1. Who's Going In Your Network

      • hows you who, in your network, is also attending the event with you.

    2. Social Summary

      • Shows you who, in your network, is also attending the event with you.

      • Shows you who, in your network, you have sent invites too that have accepted your invite to attend.

      • Shows you who, in your network, you should invite but have not yet. These are prospective invitees.

    3. Non-Social Conversion

      • Attempts to convert the non-social Registrant into an Advocate for you

      • This only goes to the non-social Registrant IF they leave the option checked "on" to be "notified when someone in their network registers."

      • InGo cannot provide this valuable service for you and your event unless we have the non-social Registrant convert into an Advocate.

Can I see examples of these notifications?
Yes, please see our helpdesk section here for examples and more in depth knowledge.

What is the Exhibitor Notification?
It notifies the users who are marked in our system as “exhibitors” of who in their network is attending the event of who in their network is going. To see the full schedule of when these notifications get sent, please see our helpdesk here.

Can I see an example of these types of emails?
Yes, please visit either for Exhibitor emails, or for the Attendee Notification emails.

What is an Registrant Notification?
An attendee notification is an email to the InGo Social user (user who authorizes the InGo app via one of the available networks, Facebook, Linkedin, Xing or Twitter) of activity in their network relating to the event. For example, the Attendee Notification offers the same functionality as the Exhibitor Notification, but it only does it for Attendees who are social (currently) and who are confirmed they are going to the event. We notify them of who in their network is also attending, 10 days out from the start date of the event, four days out and then once again in one final email notification two days from the event start date.

Why are you doing this?
We believe events are better together and ultimately experiences as a whole are far better together. To further this belief, we are providing this type of highly valuable notification to the attendee which will allow them to enjoy and experience your event better. Whenever we are going to an event, we want to know two things… “who’s going to be there” and “who’s going to lead us?” Answering that first question is critical and now, your attendee will be able to better experience your event knowing they have someone who they directly know (through their network) who is also going. It’s an immediate ice breaker and event enhancer. We hope you enjoy it!

Can I, as an Event Organizer, opt out of this?
Yes, but we DO NOT recommend this. You can turn notifications off at the event-level. Ask your InGo Account Manager or sign into your account and turn off the Notifications feature.

Events perform better when there are more touch points to your Advocates. People typically need to see something 7 times to recall it. These notifications are highly personalized to the end user, showing only the network contacts he or she knows who is going with the Registrant, not yet going, and contact to invite.  IMPORTANT: This feature will be turned on for all events from Dec 15, 2016 and users can unsubscribe to any notifications they receive by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

How does an Advocate opt out?
Your Advocates can easily opt out of the process by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any and every notification email.

What is the criteria?

  • They go out every day, depending on when the event starts, from 90 days out.
  • If, and only if, the Advocate has another user in his or her network that is also going (confirmed by Authorizer).
  • From 30 days out, it will be once a week.
  • These notifications will go out every day, if the event falls within the date range, at 6 AM and 7 AM EST.

When does this notification system go into effect?
Any newly created event from Dec 15, 2016 will have this notification engine turned on. Anything prior to that event creation date will not have any notification engine turned on.

How does an event get created?
Good question, basically, as soon as you complete our getting started form or you create an event from our API (if you’re a partner of course). When this event creation occurs, the date is written into the database. If this date is after Dec 15, 2016, the event will have this notification turned on. If it’s prior to this date, it will not be turned on.

Are you adding any future notifications?
Yes, we are actively developing more enhancements around our notification engines, adopting the best practices we have seen around email notifications as a whole.

Can I brand it with my event's logo, enter my own text, etc?
Yes, in fact, we automatically brand it for you. This feature was released May 16, 2017 and all notifications will be branded with your social post image. We are actively working on future versions of these notifications and the functionality to allow you to edit these notifications to better enhance your brand and your event. We appreciate your patience and very much look forward to this developing feature.

Where can I give you feedback?
We love reading customer feedback! Please send any inquiry direct to “” or complete this survey here, Exhibitor Notification Feedback,
